Jefferson still looking at other schools

Early on in the recruting process Tony Jefferson from Eastlake High in Chula Vista, Calif., admitted he ws a silent USC commit. USC had been a school Jefferson had wanted to attend for quite a few years. And he was spending weekends with USC commits Dillon Baxter, D.J. Morgan and their friend, Lucky Radley from Taft. But things changed after USC's Rising Stars Camp.

Jefferson said, a few weeks after the USC camp, he was no longer considering the Trojans and eventually verbally comitted to UCLA on July 21.

He considers himself a strong verbal commit for the Bruins, but Jefferson told us tonight that he's still interested in possibly taking official visits to Florida, Miami and Michigan.

"I haven't set any visits up, yet, but there might be a possibility," said Jefferson. "I talk to the coaches from Miami, Michigan and Florida on a regular basis.

UCLA got off to a very nice start to the season, but have struggled the past three weeks. Jefferson has been watching and rooting for the Bruins and gave us his impression on how UCLA has done so far this season.

"They started off real strong, but can't say much now, because they have been beaten and haven't played very well lately," Jefferson said. "Hopefully they can turn it around, get some better practices in and get this thing rolling again."

Jefferson was asked if he had interest in any other schools on the West Coast other than UCLA?

"No," Jefferson said.

Scout.com will keep you up to date when/if Jefferson decides to take official visits to Miami, Michigan and/or Florida.

FYI: Jefferson will be taking his official visit to UCLA in December.
