Whitney Lewis is a Trojan

At a football banquet in Ventura (Calif.), St. Bonaventure wide receiver Whitney Lewis has just announced for USC.

Just yesterday, we were told that Lewis would chose Florida State but his mother would not sign the letter of intent. Where this gets interesting is although Lewis has announced for the Trojans he originally said he wouldn't sign the letter of intent until he's comfortable with the decision.

Lewis has said previously that if he had to, he would wait until he turns 18 and sign a scholarship agreement rather than a letter of intent which would bind the school but not him. Lewis' mother Sheri Laws has been saying for weeks that she favored USC and told us she knew what was best for him.

Now that Lewis has indeed signed with USC, it's tough to imagine anyone signing a better class nationally. Lewis is our top wide receiver in the nation and one of the most explosive players we've seen in a few years.
