Marqise Lee continues his impressive play

Serra WR/CB Marqise Lee, until late in the 2009 season, thought of himself strictly as a basketball player playing football. But his impressive play this season has the junior thinking more about playing football, or both sports in college. Lee told us he's getting letters from three prominent Pac-10 schools including USC.

And by the time schools receive his 2009 video, he should hearing from many more schools.

Lee (6-0, 195) is one of those younger players we see every year who doesn't realize how good he is, yet. He's an extremely physical football player with excellent cover skills...and he hits hard.

We'll probably see him at numerous camps/combines this spring and summer, and if he performs as expected, scholarship offers could end up making their way to Serra head football coach Scott Altenberg's office, or Lee's mailbox?

SCPlaybook spoke to Marqise Lee last Friday night after the Cavaliers defeated Cathedral 21-7. Lee had eight tackles in that game to bring his season total up to 55. He also has three interceptions this season.
