Jalen Grimble's proving a point

Bishop Gorman seniors like TE Xavier Grimble, DE Alex Turner and LB Even Polelei might have been getting most of the attention in the past, but junior DL Jalen Grimble has become a nationally recruited prospect, like his cousin and USC commit Xavier.

Jalen Grimble already has offers from schools like USC, UCLA, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Tennessee, Stanford, Nebraska, Texas Tech, Utah, Vanderbilt and UNLV. And he will end up with many more before the process is over about 14 months from now.

Despite many in Las Vegas doubting Grimble would ever become a great player, he will be one of the highest ranked 2011 defensive linemen on the West Coast. On top of that, he's a great student (3.7 GPA) and mature well beyond his 15 years.

For the season, Grimble has more than 60 tackles and five sacks. Most of the time the opposition runs away from him or he is often double teamed.

SCPlaybook caught up with Grimble after Bishop Gorman defeated Cimarron 31-7 to advance to the Nevada State semi-final game in Reno this Friday.
