Farmer on Serra winning CA State Championship

Two weeks ago Serra began preparing for their semi-final matchup with Oaks Christian, a game they had trageted for 365 days. The Cavaliers won the hard-fought game and advanced to the CA Div. III State Championship Game, which they won last night holding off Marin Catholic 24-20. It's seems somewhat silly to talk about a state-championship game being a letdown game, but it might have been?

Serra made numerous uncharacteristic mistakes and appeared to lack the energy it had last weekend.

But, a win is a win and Serra became the first team from the South Bay region to win 15 games.

Although an an extremely small school with a barely 300 boys in attendance, but it is one of the most talented football programs in the country. The Cavaliers have perhaps as many as 13 D-1 prospects.

One of their finest is junior wide receiver George Farmer and SCPlaybook spoke to him after the state championship game.
