Uko meets with the USC coaches

George Uko verbally committed to USC on Christmas Day, but a little more than two weeks later Pete Carroll announced his resignation. The news caught Uko off guard as it did with all of USC's commits. But Saturday Uko and his father, Johnson Uko, had an opportunity to meet with newly hired USC football coach Lane Kiffin.

They also had an opportunity to meet with Kiffin's father and USC's legendary defensive coordinator, Monte Kiffin.

"George and I were at USC on Saturday," said Uko's father, Johnson. "We didn't have a chance to meet Coach O (Ed Orgeron), but we met with Lane Kiffin and Monte Kiffin. Lane is a good young coach and his father is a legend. I can't think of any defensive player who would learn more than they would from Monte Kiffin."

As much as Uko likes the Kiffin's, they are also extremely excited about Ed Orgeron's return to USC.

"George and I have had a chance to know Coach O because Tennessee was recruiting him," said Uko. "We really like Coach O and think USC will get back to winning national championships. Sometimes change is what a football program needs?"

We hope to have more on Uko's visit to USC and meeting with Lane Kiffin next week, when we travel to Don Lugo for a basketball game.
