Another Armstead is a Trojan

After attending a football camp at UCLA earlier today, Arik Armstead returned to USC, where he had attended a hoops camp yesterday, and verbally committed to the Trojans.

"I committed to USC about 30 minutes ago," said the 2012 offensive tackle/defensive line prospect earlier today. "I came here for the USC Basketball Camp yesterday, went to the UCLA Football Camp today and came back to USC and committed."

And what was it that prompted Armstead to verbally commit today?

"After meeting with the basketball staff last night, I felt really comfortable with it (USC), my brother (Armond Armstead) told me I should go here and just felt it was the best decision for me right now because it gives me insurance," said Armstead. "If something were to happen to me or I got hurt, I would still be able to get the USC degree."

Armstead said he definitely has plans on being a two-sport player and will play football, and basketball for the Trojans.
