Chad Artist ran the fastest 40 at the recent Utah Nike SPARQ Combine. I had a chance to talk to him and his Dad there. At the combine Chad was one of the top performers. At these combines they also weigh and measure the athletes. Chad is a legit 6'2 which is good to see in my opinion. The speed was not a surprise considering Chad is a State champion in the 100 meter.
After he finished he told me he was going to visit Washington State. So that was last weekend and I caught up with him since. He told me first that he has no other visits. He has already visited instate and Pac12 schools. When asked how the WSU visit went. Chad replied "It went good and they have great facilities". WSU had asked him to come up for a visit to see him and show him what they have to offer.
So is there a leader? Did Chad get wowed by the PAC12? "I still like Utah State better" is what Chad told me. So the leader and clear number one? Utah State. So the other question then is when will Chad make his decision? He will make his decision in the next couple weeks.
Chad is one of the best WR prospects in the state and it is always great to get the best Valley players to stay home. Will it happen? I guess we will have to wait a couple weeks to find out.
