In Bridgers Battle USU welcomes Wyoming to Maverik Stadium

Utah State tries to bounce back after their first conference loss against Wyoming

There are some really obvious matchups to watch against Wyoming this week. The Aggies will try to stop the run and they need to get good play from their Defensive Line with or without David Moala. Utah State needs to play their game and I think are better off leaving Jordan Nielsen at DE. But anyway, there are a few less obvious matchups to watch.

The Tight End play of Wyoming.

The Aggies have been susceptible to the TE when playing a running team in the past. The Aggies CB's have been solid this year but the Linebackers from USU need to keep an eye on the Cowboy TE's.

Young Quarterback could try to be a running QB.

Expected starter Nick Smith is a bigger QB that is more comfortable running than throwing as a Redshirt Freshman. He will try to make plays with his feet if plays break down and the Aggies should be able to bottle him up if the Dline stays in their lane.

Utah State should be able to move the ball against Wyoming and also keep the Cowboys out of the end zone with regularity. Wyoming even with their first string QB are moving the ball this year but they are not cashing in with points enough. The Utah State offensive and Defensive lines should come out ready to prove they are better than they played against San Diego State.

Look for the Aggies to feed the ball to Devante Mays and run the ball against the Cow Pokes and that will open up big plays to Hunter Sharp.

I have a feeling that Bridger's Rifle stays in the State of Utah.
