Utah State has been successful in the past finding Linebackers and developing their talent.

Utah State landed a 3 star Linebacker late to add to their 2016 signing class.

Kevin Meitzenheimer is a 3 Star Linebacker.

It is rare for a guy to be available even after signing day that was highly recruited. But after a few Pac12 schools ended up getting other commitments Meitzenheimer decided to wait it out and it has paid off. He lands with Utah State who offerred some time ago but they had a rollercoaster recruiting cycle as well.

Kevin visited Utah State this Wednesday and is now commited and ready to become an Aggie.

He was an extremely productive Linebacker at Moreno Valley HS. He garnered accolades such as all-state second team by CalHiSports.com.

Ranked as a 3 Star as well as number 8 Linebacker in the West by Scout.

Averaged 13 tackles per game as a Senior as well as 4 Sacks and 2 interceptions

My analysis is that although not ideal height to play outside he does show the ability to be versatile enough to be a bench LB pretty early in his career at Utah State. Ideally he would fit in as an Inside Linebacker that shows great ability to tackle and fill the gap on rushing plays. Did not show a lot of coverage skills on film but I think has the athletecism to develop that with time.

Utah State is in need of more Linebackers and may be able to crack into the 2 deep depending on if The Aggies sign another linebacker late or get a transfer.

This signing will improve the Aggies recruit ranking and average stars but more importantly gives them another young Linebacker to develop in their system

**Update - He has officially signed his Letter of Intent
