MWC Week 3 Power Rankings

One team moves up despite a loss, while another prepares for a possible freefall..

1. TCU (3-0) (0-0)
A 45-10 shellacking of a solid Baylor team solidifies their case as the best in the conference. Utah wouldn't beat Baylor that badly.
2. Utah (3-0) (2-0)
The defense has been very impressive and should continue that this week against San Jose State. The offense, despite 56 points against New Mexico, is still rounding into form.
3. Air Force (2-1) (1-0)
Almost took down Oklahoma in Norman. This team is for real and will win 8-10 games.
4. San Diego State (2-1) (0-0)
A last minute meltdown at Missouri kept the Aztecs from maintaining perfection and what would have likely been a top 25 ranking.
5. BYU (1-2) (0-1)
I still think BYU is better than SDSU, but they aren't playing like it right now with back to back blowouts on the road. Nevada doesn't make things any easier this week, but coming home to Lavell Edwards Stadium may help stop the bleeding.
6. Wyoming (1-2) (0-0)
I know Boise State is good, but the Cowboys made them look like the best team in the country. This year in Laramie is going to be a disappointment. At least they still have three awful conference opponents to face.
7. UNLV (0-3) (0-1)
They're only here because the two teams below them might be the worst in the country, but should pick up their first win against New Mexico this weekend.
8. Colorado State (0-3) (0-0)
Lost by 21 to a Miami of Ohio team that won one game in 2009. The offense is the worst in the country averaging only 6.3 points per game. If they didn't get New Mexico at home, would likely be looking at a winless season. Goodbye Steve Fairchild.
9. New Mexico (0-3) (0-1)
New allegations against Mike Locksley. Worst team in the country.
