MWC Week 4 Power Rankings

San Diego State makes a move into the top 3 in the latest addition of the MWC Power Rankings...

1. TCU (4-0) (0-0)
Not the best performance so far for the Horned Frogs, but SMU is probably better than they are being given credit for. TCU finished off their non-conference schedule with a perfect record and 6th in the nation in scoring offense.
2. Utah (4-0) (2-0)
The Utes were very workmanlike in their 56-3 demolishing of San Jose State. They do get a week off before heading out to Iowa State for a possible trap game. How good this team is remains to be seen as they haven't really played anyone with Pitt looking bad.
3. San Diego State (3-1) (0-0)
Put a good whooping on Utah State and appear to be for real. The Utah game AT SDSU towards the end of the season is shaping up to be a much bigger showdown than people anticipated at the start of the season.
4. Air Force (3-1) (2-0)
Almost lost to a lowly Wyoming team and the Oklahoma loss doesn't look as good with the Sooners struggling at Cincinnati. Still leading the nation in rushing.
5. BYU (1-3) (0-1)
The brutal four game opening stretch is over with the Cougars coming out 1-3, although it could have easily been 0-4. Jake Heaps is struggling and this team looks lost. This weekend at Utah State is crucial. If they lose to the Aggies, which is very possible, they're staring at a 1-6 start with San Diego State and TCU to follow.
6. Wyoming (1-3) (0-1)
Almost beat a good Air Force team, but ended up dropping their third straight. Need to get a win this week on the road against a surprising Toledo team that just beat Purdue on the road. If they don't, the Cowboys are likely headed for an 8 game losing streak with TCU, Utah, San Diego State, and BYU following.
7. UNLV (1-3) (1-1)
Put a pretty good beating on New Mexico, but c'mon…. it's New Mexico.
8. Colorado State (1-3) (0-0)
Freshman Pete Thomas was amazing in their upset over Idaho. This might be the stepping stone and confidence builder this team needs to win a few games and save Steve Fairchild's job.
9. New Mexico (0-4) (0-2)
UNLV is not a good team, yet they beat the Lobos by 35. Mike Locksley should have been fired by now.
