Norm Chow To Utah

Legendary offensive coordinator has been hired by the U to run their offense starting in 2011...

InsideTheUtes has confirmed with more than one source, including one in the athletic department, that UCLA offensive coordinator Norm Chow has indeed been hired to be the offensive coordinator at Utah.

With UCLA's hiring of former 49ers offensive coordinator Mike Johnson as their own offensive coordinator expected to be announced tomorrow, Chow was on his way out regardless.

Chow is famed for his success with quarterbacks helping lead Ty Detmer, Carson Palmer, and Matt Leinart to Heisman Trophies under his tutelage.

Despite making the move to the pistol formation at UCLA in 2010, Chow has consistently run a pro-style offense throughout his coaching career. The type of offense he will run at Utah remains to be seen.

InsideTheUtes will have more on the Chow hiring over the next few days with an in depth look at his recent struggles at UCLA and what will need to change for him to be successful at Utah.
