With his senior year on the horizon and summer camps the best chance to pick up offers, local offensive lineman Spencer Rudolph has gotten a jump on the competition by marketing himself and sending out highlight tapes across the country in hopes of picking up offers.
"I've been putting myself out there and receiving some interest from a lot of schools. I sent my highlight film out to a large quantity of colleges across the country and I've received a bunch of letters back from them."
While the local schools are taking their time on the big lineman out of Kaysville, a couple of Pac 12 schools are recruiting him the hardest at this point.
"The only schools that have shown a lot of interest in me at this point right now are UCLA, Washington, and Colorado State. They sent me some questionaires to fill out."
While the local Utes and Cougars have shown a ton of interest at this point, Rudolph would seriously consider an offer from either school.
"I went to the Utah football camp last year. I really like that school a lot and have been following them a lot because I live close by. If given the choice, I'd really consider going there".
With camps across the country already in high gear and the summer circuit a few months away, Spencer will be on the road hitting as many camps as he can.
"I'm looking attending the BYU and Utah State camps along with the Utah camp, and maybe UCLA's as well. I'll go wherever I have to go to get an offer."
Despite not having any offers at the moment, Rudolph doesn't plan on jumping at that first offer should it come and wants to enjoy the entire recruiting process before making a decision.
"I'm not going to jump at that first offer when it comes. I want to wait to see what happens to see if I get anymore offers. As we get closer to the end of my senior year I'll probably make a decision."
When it comes down a decision, his comfort level at a school is going to be very important, along a with a few other factors.
"When I make my decision, I'm really going to focus on the environment of the campus. I want to feel like I fit in really well and am comfortable. The football program, along with the facilities, are also very important. I Also want to go to a place with good coaches."
