Athlete Ma'ne Manaea is one of the top players in the state of Washingto, and as been receiving interest from multiple Pac 12 schools, but only has one offer to his credit.
"My recruitment is going pretty good. I'm getting a lot of looks fro different schools. First offer came from Washington State, but I'm also hearing from UCLA, Utah, Boise Sate, Colorado, Air Force, BYU, and Washington."
Despite being in Washington's backyard, Manaea is looking hard at Utah and lists them in his top two, listing their heavy Polynesian atmosphere as being a big reason for his interest and is planning a summer visit.
"My cousin has been talking to me a lot about Utah. I've met with a lot of players at past All Poly Camps with players that now play at Utah. Having a lot of Polynesians on the team, that is definitely one of the biggest things for me. I grew up playing a lot with my family and a lot of Polynesian people. It would be like a welcome home. I've been talking with the Utah coaches a lot. I'm going to be down there in June for the All Poly Camp and the Utah camp is the next week."
Despite being one of his favorites, the versatile Manaea wouldn't necessarily commit to Utah immediately if an offer is extended.
"I'm still going to keep it a an option. If the come with an offer, I'll be very happy. I'm not going to lie. I'll be very happy."
With the Utes move to the Pac 12, Manaea is excited to see what they can do against some of the top competition in the country on a week to week basis.
"They're going from the Mountain West and playing Colorado State. Now they'll be playing schools like USC and UCLA and we'll get to see if they're a real deal type of team. It's going to be a good challenge for them."
