McClellon Can Fly

The speedy wide receiver Delshawn McClellon out of Gahr HS in Cerritos, CA recently picked up an offer from Utah...

Continuing with their recruiting assault of California, Utah offered speedster wide receiver Delshawn McClellon (4.37 40) on Wednesday afternoon as well as high teammate Dwayne Thomas.

"I like Utah, but I'm wide open right now. They're definitely a consideration."

Along with his Utah offer, McClellon reports offers from Hawaii, Arizona State, and Idaho.

"I'm also hearing from Washington State, USC, and UCLA. USC is supposed to come down next week to make an official offer."

Wanting to pick up more offers before making a decision, McClellon is keeping his options open.

"I'm wide open right now, but I know what I want in a school. I'm looking for an education. That's always first. Team chemistry and where they're headed. I like to win."

Offensive coordinator Norm Chow was the one to offer McClellan and would like to use him in multiple ways, while comparing him to arguably the most explosive player in the NFL.

"I talked to Norm Chow. They said I can be a deep threat. I can be a big factor in the return game. Mostly punts. They say I remind them of DeSean Jackson. He said that me and Dwayne, we need to get out there to see what Utah is all about."

Could the wide receiver duo end up being a package deal to one school?

We might do that. It's something we've talked about."

We might have to wait until later in the process to find out where at least one half of the duo is going.

"I don't want to make a decision now. I'm going to wait until closer to signing day."
