Terrance Knighten out of Birmingham High (Van Nuys, CA) could end up as one of the top offensive line prospects in California for 2013 and has seen his recruitment pick up as he hits the spring and summer camp circuit.
"I believe it is going very well. This past May it has picked up. I've received a lot of letters from numerous colleges."
With interest growing, big time programs from all of the country are checking in on the 6-2 275 pound offensive guard.
I've been talking to and received letters from USC, Wisconsin, Baylor, Dartmouth, Washington, Oregon Sate, Utah, Arizona State, and Northern Arizona, and Utah State."
Utah's move to a new offense is intriguing to Knighten as is the thought of playing under two of the country's premier coaches.
"I know they're moving to the Pac 12 next season. I'd like to work with head Coach Kyle Whittingham and I know Norm Chow is bringing the west coast offense, which my team is really trying to work on this season."
Still almost two years from signing day, Knighten reports no favorites, but is putting academics high on his list of needs.
"Right now I'm looking at the education and a school that offers the major that I want to major in, which is business administration. Also the coaches. I would like to wait until signing day to make a decision, but whatever happens, happens. "
Knighten comes from a high school in Birmingham High that has traditional sent multiple players to the division 1 level, but his interest in playing with current teammates isn't high.
"It's about me and where I want to go. If a school is the right school for me, then I'll be there by myself."
Terrance has a busy summer planned with a few local camps and a possible cross country trip to see one of the elite SEC programs.
"I'm going to the USC and the UCLA camps. It's possible that I'll be going to the LSU camp."
