Tomme Mark (Lufkin) is one of the top defensive linemen in Texas and is getting looks from all over the country and at both spots on the line while seeing his recruitment pick up.

"It's going pretty good. I have offers from Utah, SMU, Houston, Kansas, Utah State, Michigan State, and Missouri."

Despite not reporting any favorites, there's one local school that he's hoping offers.

"TCU is a school I'd really like an offer from."

With Utah offering Mark, their ability to put linemen into the NFL is a big draw and has him showing interest in the Utes.

"To tell you the truth, I wasn't expecting Utah to offer me. They offered me as a defensive end. I didn't know a lot about them until I met one of the coaches (Morgan Scalley) and talked to him. They put a lot of defensive linemen in the NFL. If I end up going there, I think it can be a good fit."

With his Texas roots, the transition to Utah may be difficult, but Mark is willing to consider it and face a new challenge should he end up in Salt Lake City.

"That would be a hard transition. It's cold there. They told me about a Klein (TX) defensive back going there (Eric Rowe). It would be a good challenge though to get away from home and meet new people."

Mark is putting a lot of emphasis on his relationship with the coaching staff when making his decision, which could be coming in the near future.

"The relationship with the coaches and how the connect with me is the most important thing. I would like to make a decision before the season started so I wouldn't have to worry about it during the season and I can concentrate on playing football."
