One day after being offered by Utah, Syracuse (Utah) defensive end Hunter Dimick gave his commitment to be a Ute. Dimick attended the Utah camp on Tuesday and came away with an offer for his performance. The offer was a surprise since Dimick had not being hearing anything from Utah prior to the camp. Dimick mentioned that defensive coordinator Kalani Sitake had been talking to him a few times, but those talks were not serious.
He has good size at at 6-foot-4 inches and 250 pounds and while he is being recruited as a defensive end it is possible that he may move to play tackle in the 4-3 defense that Utah runs. Dimmick's combination of his size and speed give him the make up to become a good pass rusher at the next level.
Dimick picked Utah over his other two offers which came from San Diego State and BYU. His quick decision was not too much of a surprise as Dimick said that he wanted to make a decision fairly quickly so that he did not have to worry about the recruiting process during his senior season.
