Syracuse (Utah) defensive end Hunter Dimick talked about his quick decision to commit to Utah just one day after attending their camp. "Utah was my favorite team growing up," Dimick said. "After talking to all the coaches I felt that it was the right place for me to be, it's just perfect for me to be playing for the team I cheered for growing up."
In Dimick's junior year at Syracuse, he led the state in sacks while earning himself first-team, all-state honors. Dimick felt that his style of play will fit in with the Utah defense. "My high school ran a 4-3 defense and so does Utah so that will be a good fit."
Dimick also had other offers from BYU and San Diego State and the reason he chose Utah over those other schools were to Utah having better facilities then those schools, plus with Utah moving to the Pac-12 it was hard for Dimick to not commit once Utah offered him.
"It's such an exciting time at Utah, and you just want to be a part of it" he said. "It's perfect, being able to play for my favorite team growing up, loving the coaches and playing in the Pac-12. I really couldn't ask for anything more."
Dimick made the decision to commit early to Utah so that he could concentrate on his senior season and he did not want to waste any other schools time because Dimick always wanted to be a Ute.
