Poteki Stays Home

Brighton's offensive tackle Nua Poteki commits to Utah, wanting to stay close to home...

One of the biggest linemen in the state of Utah is off the board as 6-4.5, 318 pound Nua Poteki (Brighton), committed to Utah today at their Elite Camp.

"I did commit today. I was offered last week and after thinking about it for a week, I wanted to stay close to my family in Utah."

His relationship with the coaching staff and how they interact with their players put the Utes over the top for Poteki who also had an offer from Weber State.

"I like the coaching staff and I like how the coaches and players are so close."

Poteki, who is LDS, won't be around for some time for the Utes, as he's a sign and send kid who be taking a mission before ever enrolling at Utah.

"I'm leaving right after I graduate. I turn 19 in August and I'm going to leave before I start my freshman year. I can't wait to go on my mission."
