Sewell Shines at Elite Camp

Wide receiver Trent Sewell impressed at the Utah Elite camp, one of six camps he attended...

Trent Sewell is on a camp mission, trying to prove that he's one of the best receivers on the west coast for 2012.

"Recently I went to six camps so I just finished up the camp circuit."

One of the camps that Sewell attended was the Utah Elite Camp, where he was easily the best wide receiver in attendance.

"I like Utah a lot. It's a good place. I like the coaches a lot. They were good people. They want me to contact them this week. I'm excited that they're going to the Pac 12. I'd like to take an official visit out there."

With the camp circuit completed, Sewell is sitting back and hoping to add to the two current offers he already has.

"Washington State and UCLA have offered. I've also been hearing from Oregon, Oregon State, Cal, Washington, Colorado, Utah, and Boise State."

Spending time at the Utah Elite Camp allowed Sewell to interact with the coaches and develop a relationship, something he is putting a lot of stock into when making his college choice.

"The biggest thing is if I'm going to be able to make a connection with my coach because my coach is going to be one of my primary educators for the next four years. Also, the school itself. It needs to have great academics. Then I also want to at least play for a decent program or a program on the rise."

While he's still a few months from a decision and wants to pick up a few more offers, Sewell won't be waiting forever and doesn't want the process affecting his senior season.

"I'm trying to make a decision before the season starts or the first couple of weeks of the season."
