Los Angeles Price power forward Skylar Spencer recently picked up his fifth offer and is receiving interest from some new schools. "Nevada recently offered me and I have been talking to New Mexico and UTEP." With the July evaluation period underway Spencer is getting the feeling that he will be getting scholarship offers from New Mexico, UTEP and Utah.
DeMarlo Slocum has been the main Ute coach has been in contact with Spencer. "Coach Slocum has been great and I like him. I haven't really talked to the other coaches yet." Besides the coaching staff, Spencer mentioned that he looked toward Utah more because of the move from the Mountain West to the Pac-12. Being in the Pac-12 allows for Slocum to play in Los Angeles twice year when Utah plays UCLA and USC, and even more if the Pac-12 tournament stays in Los Angeles.
Spencer has a few areas that will help him consider where he will play basketball. "Education, location, coaching and the way I fit in with the team. The style of play is another factor that I want to consider, because I want to go to a team where I can fit in well and contribute as soon as possible."
Spencer has no plans on taking any visits this summer, but he plans to take as many official visits as possible when he can, and he expects to take one to Utah. Other schools that are high on his list are Gonzaga, Florida State, USC and UTEP.
