Everett Has Utah On Top

JC cornerback Kasseim Everett favoring Utah, but still hearing from many big name schools..

Kasseim Everett has been all over the place, and has one stop left to make. The JC corner out of Pierce College in Southern Califoornia played his high school ball in Philadelphia and then redshirted at Delaware in 2009 due to injures. He then made his trek out his west to Pierce for the 2010 season where he was one of the top JC DBs in the west, helping him land his first offer in June and is now picking up more interest as he decides on his final destination.

"My recruitment is going better than I expected coming out here from Philly to play at a JUCO. Right now, Utah has offered. Other schools that are recruiting me are Arizona State, UCLA, Iowa State, and Kansas State."

With Utah being his only offer at the moment, the Utes are leading the way for his services as getting on him quickly and being the first to offer has made a big impression.

"Absolutely they're my favorite. They noticed me at an early point. They came by a couple of times to watch practice and said that I have what it takes and the work ethic to be successful at the corner position and they moved faster than other schools to offer me and I liked that."

Everett has never set foot in the Beehive State, but will be coming out for an official at some point in the fall.

"I haven't been out to Utah yet. I'm actually waiting to take an official visit so I can take my parents. "

Despite Utah being his only offer at this point, the 5-11 185 pound corner still plans on visiting a few other schools before making a final decision.

"I definitely want to to take couple of visits and make a couple of comparisons, but I'll probably make a decision around mid-season, after I get a few visits out of the way."

With Utah's dire need for corners in the 2012 class, Everett likes his chances at coming in and competing for a spot, and is prioritizing that when making his choice.

"I'm a 2 for 2 guy, so I want to be able to come in and compete for a starting job. I'm also looking for a good environment and coaching staff. I need to get along with the coaching staff and the players."
