Renfro Names His Leader

Orange (TX) West Orange Stark cornerback DaCarlos Renfro is one of the more under the radar corners in Texas for 2012 with offers mostly coming from smaller schools, but is starting to see an increase in interest from the SEC, Big 10 and Pac 12.

"My recruitment is going well. I've got quite a few offers and looking to pick up more."

With seven offers in hand, Renfro is looking to pick up a couple more in the coming months.

"I've been offered by Houston, Iowa State, Memphis, North Texas, Western Kentucky, Tulane, Louisiana-Lafayette and I'm talking to Colorado, Utah, Tulsa, Arkansas, and Purdue.

Asked if there were any school that are standing out, the 5-10, 176 pound corner named one Pac 12 school in particular.

"Utah. They have a great coaching staff and they're in a great city. Coach Scalley is a very good guy to converse with because he tells you what you want to hear and will never lie to you about anything."

While Utah has not offered yet, the cornerback position is a priority in the 2012 class and something could happen in the coming months.

"They have talked about an offer. They said that they wanted to see me in action before offering, but I am high on their list right now."

With strong interest in the Utes, Renfro plans of heading west to Salt Lake City in the fall for an official visit.

"I'm going to be taking a visit during the season, possibly on my bye week."

If Utah does end extending an offer Renfro's way, it probably won't take him long to make a decision.

"If Utah offers, most likely I'll commit."
