Bush-Loo Talks Recruitment

With an offer from Nebraska in his pocket, TE/DE Keoni Bush-Loo hopes for more offers.

Kamehameha Secondary has been a nice pipeline to the University of Utah, a pipeline Utah hopes will produce a trio of prospects in 2011. OT Kiha Sai gave his commitment to Utah in April, DE Kory Rasmussen has already received an offer from Utah, and TE/DE Kenoi Bush-Loo hopes to pick up an offer from Utah soon.

So far, Bush-Loo has only been offered by Nebraska, though he's receiving interest from many schools on the west coast.

"It all started from my sophomore year. We won the state championship. Letters started coming from Oregon, UNLV, and the letters picked up my junior year. I've been getting recruited by most all of the Pac12 schools, and some other schools. Nebraska offered."

Utah's DLine Coach Chad Kauhaahaa has been Bush-Loo's primary recruiter from the Utes. As of now, Utah is under consideration, though faces an uphill battle.

"Utah is looking like they are going to be one of [my official visits]."

"I have a really close friend, he plays along with me. He's a tackle at our school, and he's actually committed there. Kiha Sai. Then when he came up to come visit, he talked to me too. He said they need to get some more film. When they get back from break, they're going to watch film and make some decisions."

"I'm hoping Cal will [offer] soon. Cal, Utah and I'm hoping Boise."

Bush-Loo's ability to play multiple positions makes him attractive to college football coaches.

"Right now, most schools are recruiting me as a defensive end, but there are some schools that are recruiting me as a tight end. And Nebraska is actually looking at me as an outside linebacker. I feel most comfortable at Tight End."

When evaluating potential colleges, Bush-Loo will look for comfort, culture and location.

"Being from Hawaii, it's kind of hard to get along with other people, the way I feel comfortable with the players and the culture, and the location too. My parents will want to come watch some games."

Three schools in particular stand out right now to Bush-Loo.

"Cal, Nebraska's my number one, and Boise State. Those are my top 3 right now, but it's not really official."
