Dickerson Puts Utes In His Top 5

JC running back Donnell Dickerson will start taking mid-year visits and has Utah in the top five...

Saddleback (CA) Junior College has produced as many high profile prospects as any JC in the country outside of Blinn (TX), and they've got another one in Donnell Dickerson who has seen schools from all over the country show interest.

"I've been hearing from a couple of teams, mainly Ole Miss, San Diego State, Utah, Auburn, Oregon State, and a few non-BCS and D-2 schools."

The versatile back has picked up a few verbal offers, contingent upon him meeting all of the academic requirements needed to get him qualified.

"I've had a few verbal offers, but they all want to see how school is going before they offer officially."

Dickerson claims a verbal offer from Utah and has stayed in close touch with the Ute coaches while they make sure he's making progress in the classroom.

"Utah is one of my top five right now, especially after they got Norm Chow. I talk to the coaches every couple of weeks. They just wants to know how school is going and stuff like that. They said the offer is on the table and just want to make sure I'm going to get my A.A. first."

If everything goes to plan, Dickerson will be a mid-year enrollee and participating in spring ball at the college of his choice.

"I'm on track to graduate in December so I can enroll early."

Not wanting his recruitment to get in the way of his season with JC powerhouse Saddleback, Dickerson won't start taking visits and narrowing his list for a few more months.

"I'm focusing on the season and haven't really thought about where I want to visit yet. I want to win a state title and maybe even a national championship. I probably won't start taking visits until the middle of the season."

With interest coming from all over, the all purpose back is willing to go anywhere that wants him and he feels comfortable with.

"I'm really open to going anywhere. I'm not too picky with location. I just want to find the best fit for me."
