With his team in the thick of the state championship race, Jake Eldrenkamp took his time with his recruiting. Now that he is done, things are really starting to pick up.
"I just received an offer from Purdue. I'm scheduled to visit them the second or third week of January."
Along with his recent offer to Purdue Eldrenkamp currently holds offers from two Pac-12 schools and two Ivy League schools and says he doesn't favor one over another right now.
"I'm not too worried about playing time or academics; I just want to go to a place where I fit in. My main thing is seeing the coaches, the players, and the atmosphere and finding a place that feels right."
Eldrenkamp put his recruiting off as his senior season heated up, but now that things are over he's ready to get things moving.
"My season went long, but we ended up winning state. I suffered an ankle injury early in the year but fought back and really focused on finishing strong. Because of that my recruiting has been a bit slow but now I'm starting to talk to coaches and set up visits."
Eldrenkamp plans on renewing his contact with the Utah coaches this week and hopes to set a visit with them soon. With Utah being one of five schools Jake currently holds an offer from, the Utes are still very much in play for the three-star lineman.
Jake doesn't plan to wait until signing day to decide where he plays. He is hoping to have all of his visits complete by the end of January and plans on making a decision at that time.
