Jackson Remains Firm to Utah

Jake Jackson, a Utah commit, talks about his recruitment.

The high school football season is now in the books, and recruits across the country are turning their attention to the next step.

"I'm working out right now, every day after school," Jackson continued. "From here on out, it's about college. I might do track to get my speed up and stuff, but from here on out, it's about football. I'll work out every day, just so I don't look like a girl in the weight room when I get up there."

Jackson committed to Utah in September, and has not wavered in his decision whatsoever.

"Anybody that tries to talk to me about coming to their school, my coach informs them that I'm going to Utah, and they don't need to waste their time. I'm definitely going to Utah."

Utah's defensive coaches like the potential of Jackson. For his high school team, Jackson plays both ways. In college, Utah thinks he will excel on the defensive side of the ball.

"They want me at outside linebacker. Right now I'm like 6'3, 205. When I went there for my unofficial visit, they told me to just come there the way I was, no matter how skinny I was, and they would build me up how they wanted."

Jackson will be visiting Utah officially, and is anxious to join the Ute program and get to work.

"I'm going on my official visit on the 20th, and I sign on February 2nd. I think I report in June for summer workouts, and then I'll go on an LDS mission in August for 2 years"

"I come up on the 20th. I think that's when a bunch of us Sign and Sends are coming up on the 20th. They're going to show us the institute and all that stuff."
