McClellon Working Hard For Utah

The wide receiver commit spent his official visit trying to convince other players to join him...

Delshawn McClellon is working hard and Utah may reap the benefits. The Ute commit enjoyed his official visit to Salt Lake City by trying to lure in other prospects to Utah and may have been successful in landing at least one.

"It was a great visit. We went on a tour around the school, saw the field, talked about academics, we ate a lot, and I was mainly just recruiting Brandon Beaver, Alphonso Marsh, and Raymond Ford."

When asked where each player stands, from his perspective, McClellon was optimistic that Utah was in a great place for all three.

"Alphonso is going to commit after this week. He will commit to Utah. I'm sure of that. Brandon Beaver is taking a trip to Oklahoma, and Oklahoma and Utah are his top two. Raymond Ford is taking a trip to Cal this weekend. We were talking about being roommates at Utah."

McClellon spent much of his weekend hanging out with the wide receiving crew and had another speedster as his host.

"Reggie Dunn was my host. We bonded good. I was mainly with all the receivers and it felt like I was home."

With the Utah quarterback situation up in the air heading into 2012, the Los Angeles area product was able to bond with a future Ute signal caller who may be throwing him the ball next season.

"I spent time with the quarterback Travis Wilson. We have a good bond and I felt something special with him. He's solid. He's going to Utah for sure. He's enrolling in a couple of weeks."

With two and a half weeks until signing day, the speedy receiver will continue his recruitment of the three cornerback prospects in an attempt to get them to Utah.

"I'm going to just keep recruiting them and hopefully they'll end up with us."
