If the early part of his recruitment is any indication, (TX) athlete Jacorey Warrick is going to have plenty of options come signing day in 2013.
"My recruitment has really been picking up. Utah was the first school to offer, but now I have offers from Baylor, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech as well."
With five offers in the bag, Warrick has been receiving a ton of interest from Big 12 schools and favors two of them at the moment.
"I'm also hearing from Texas A&M, Texas, Northwestern, and Arkansas. Of all of those schools, Oklahoma and Baylor are my favorites right now, but I'm open to anything."
Warrick is putting strong relationships and being part of something that feels like more than just a team at the top of his list of priorities for a school.
"I want to go to a place with a family atmosphere where the coaches are really going to push me to get better."
Despite not being very familiar with Utah at the moment, he speaks with the Utah coaches often and is looking to gain a better understanding of the school and the program.
"I've been talking to Coach Scalley and I'm interested in learning more about what Utah has to offer."
Utah's ability to bring in players from Texas and turn them into successful ballplayers that often get a shot in the NFL is helping their cause with Warrick.
"That is definitely something that keeps me interested and makes me more comfortable with the program, especially with them having a young offensive coordinator that came from Texas and was so successful."
Warrick is a versatile player that is getting most of his interest on offense, but could end up on the other side of the ball if that ends up being a better fit.
"Most schools are recruiting me as a receiver, but some are looking at me as an athlete, so I might end up at cornerback somewhere."
The 5-10, 170 pound speedster that runs a self reported 4.4 is hoping to get his decision out of the way early, but wants to explore all options and make sure he finds the right school so his mind doesn't change down the line.
"I'm hoping to decide before the start of the season. I don't want to commit before I'm ready and then decommit at some point."
