Wills Still Picking Up Offers

5 star safety Priest Willis is one of the top prospects in the country...

There may not be a better all around football player and athlete in the West for 2013 than Tempe (AZ) Marcos De Niza's Priest Willis. Willis has been one of the most highly recruited players in the nation, helping him earn his 5 star status with Scout.

"My recruitment is going really good. I'm up to 26 offers right now."

Of those 26, there are quite a few heavy hitters on the list.

"LSU, Florida, Florida State, Oklahoma, Michigan, and Nebraska are some of the schools that have offered. There are more, but I can't remember all of them right now."

Despite the offer list, and having already visited USC and UCLA, Willis is yet to name and leader and probably won't be doing so for awhile.

"I don't have any favorites right now. I want to take it slow and see what each school has to offer. I need to find the best overall situation for myself and the school that I can be most successful at both on and off the field."

Utah has jumped into the mix and Willis likes what he hears from the Utah coaches, especially with their ability to put defensive backs into the NFL.

"I know they are a good program and they put a lot of DBs in the league. That's the ultimate goal and Utah sends a lot of guys there."

While Willis has never visited Utah, he does have a family friend that is on staff for the Utes in Pablo Cano, the new assistant director of player personnel.

"Pablo has been a great friend to my step-dad. They've known each other for a long time. It's good for me to know that there is someone at Utah that I know when the time comes to make a decision."

Willis has great size at 6-2, 203 pounds and the speed and athleticism to play corner in high school, but projects better as a safety at the next level.

"I mostly play corner, but I'm going to line up at slot receiver this year as well. In college though, I'll be a DB. I'm a defensive player."

With all of the offers in hand, and more likely on their way, Willis will be attending camps this summer to help improve his game, and his stock.

"I'll definitely be going to the Nike Football Camp."
