Vaenuku Coming to Visit

DE Gaius Vaenuku will be making the rounds in Utah very soon

As the class of 2013 recruiting season rolls on, Utah continues to be a force in the state of Texas. One of the players they've identified early on is DE Gaius Vaenuku.

"It's going well. I have a lot of offers, but the mains ones are Utah, Missouri and Arizona State."

Vaenuku has been in consant contact with Utah's Morgan Scalley and the interactions have made quite an impression on him.

"I haven't seen been on campus yet, but from what I heard it's a lot like my high school (Trinity) where everyone is like family. I also really like Coach Scalley. He knows how to take care of you."

Not wanting to tip his cap in one direction or the other, Vaenuku doesn't want to name a leader, but is putting Utah at or near the top of his current list.

"No favorites right now but, I'm really thinking about the Utes."

Vaenuku will be making the rounds in the state of Utah shortly by stopping by three programs.

"I'll be visiting Utah on the 13th of June. I'll also be heading to BYU and Utah State."

The 6-3, 255 pounder is putting his religious responsibilities high on his list when talking to schools and weighing his decisions.

"I'm looking for a school that will let me take two years to go on a mission right after high school and someone who will help me get my degree."

While the Utes like Vaenuku as a defensive end, he is being recruited on the offensive side of the ball as well and could end up there if needed.

"Most schools are recruiting me as a defensive end, but TCU and Michigan are recruiting me to play left tackle."

With a few visits on the horizon and the ability to take five official visits during the fall and winter, Vaenuku won't be making a decision anytime soon.

"I'm not going to commit until I take my visits."
