Thomas Stands At 3

Texas QB Micah Thomas picked up an offer from Utah to go along with 2 others

The state of Texas produces as many athletes as anywhere in the country, and the 2013 class has another one that could be ready to blow up over the summer and into the fall in quarterback Micah Thomas.

"My recruitment is going good. It's going real good. I have three offers right now from Colorado, Rice and Utah."

Two of those offers have been at the quarterback spot while one is on the defensive side of the ball.

"Colorado and Utah offered me at quarterback and Rice as a DB."

Thomas is also hearing from a host of schools including Air Force, Northwestern, Baylor, UTEP, Utah State, San Jose State, Navy, and Kentucky, but doesn't have a favorite right now while he sorts through things and looks to pick up more offers.

"I don't have a favorite right now and I'm not sure when I'm going to decide. I'm just sitting back and letting everything happen right now."

The 6-0 183 pounder would likely have more offers with his skill set if not for an injury that cut short his 2011 season.

"I broke my wrist after a couple of games last year so I haven't been able to play very much, but I'm smart, have a high football IQ, have good feet, a good arm, and I move around really well."

The Utes haven't been scared off by the injury and recently offered.

"Utah offered this past Wednesday. I talked to Coach Scalley on Saturday and we've messaged on Facebook before. I like the academic programs that they have there like the business and medical programs. It's a real good academic school. I haven't visited there before, but I'd like to take a visit, maybe an official visit."

Based on Thomas' criteria in picking a school, Utah could end up being a nice fit.

"I'm looking for a school with a good academic program, being able to compete, and a school that has a strong program and wins."
