Johnson Taking It Slow

Four star corner Johnny Johnson was offered by Utah recently and is developing a relationship with the coaches...

With two outgoing starting seniors coming up in 2012, and cornerback still being a focus for the 2013 class, Utah is in a great spot to land some of the top lockdown players on the west coast, including 4 star Johnny Johnson.

The Utes recently got in the mix with Johnson by offering and he likes what he hears.

"They offered last week. I dont know much about them so my thoughts are limited but they are a solid program and I look forward to learning more about them. Coach Tuiaki is recruiting me. Our relationship is solid. We have spoken a few times."

Having never been out to Utah, Johnson isn't sure if he'll visit or where he'll be visiting at all with his recruitment being up in the air.

"I dont know what I am going to do about visits yet and I don't have a list of favorites. I have to be competing for playing time, and have a great and real relationship with the coaches."

The number five ranked corner in the nation is putting academics high on his list of priorities and is already narrowing down a list of potential majors.

"I'm looking for a school with a prestigious education. I want a degree that speaks for itself and will allow me to get a great job. I'd like to major in sports med, crimonolgy, or business."

Wanting to take his time, take visits, and feel out the process, Johnson isn't looking to decide anytime soon.

"There's no timetable for my decision. I just want to see what happens."
