Sam Tevi Committed
Tevi committed to the Utes over the summer and might be the defensive commit with the most upside. An immediate impact kind of guy.
Myron Aiava Committed
Aiava pulled the trigger a couple of months ago and is a physical freak. Utah is his only offer at this point, but he could pickup more interest as the season goes along.
Joe Mathis (Offered)
Mathis visited Utah unofficially over the summer and plans on visiting officially towards the end of the season. He has ties to the Utah program, and the Utes could be a sleeper, but Mathis may have trouble qualifying academically to play anywhere, let alone Utah.
Lowell Lotulelei (Offered)
Lotulelei is as much of a lock as any player left on Utah's board. The younger brother of Star has been very quiet during the process, but all indications are that he'll be a Ute in the end.
Jack Powers (Offered)
Powers is an intriguing player who could end up at either defensive line spot or as a tackle on the offensive side of the ball. Utah will almost certainly get an official visit and is in the thick of the race, although Washington State has a small edge for his services.
Vili Levini (Offered)
Levini was close to committing to Utah over the summer, but pushed it off to take a few official visits first. The Utes are still at the top of his list, but if he takes too long, they may have to move on if other players decide to commit.
Gaius Vaenuku (Offered)
Vaenuku is high on the Utes and Utah has a great chance at landing him. He's indicated that he'll take an official visit with current commit and teammate Sam Tevi, which could end with a quick commitment.
Marquel Combs JC (Offered)
Combs has a pretty extensive offer list and was once committed to Mississippi. The Utes are in the mix and Combs has said that he loves watching Star Lotulelei. An official isn't a certainty, but it's possible.
Edwin Delva (Offered)
Delva is a 3 to play 2 JC guy. He's loaded up on offers and Utah is on the outside looking in at the moment.
Kyle Peko (Offered)
Utah was doing very well with Peko early, but with new teams coming on and offering, they've slid back into the back. An official is possible, but a commitment is doubtful.
Ofa Hautau (Offered)
Hautau comes from Snow JC and will have 3 to play 2 wherever he ends up. It's a battle between Utah, BYU, and Utah State at the moment. Hearing that Hautau could have some issues qualifying.
Others To Watch:
Austin Hooper (Offered)
Paulo Lepua (Offered)
Randy Gregory JC (Offered)
Kennedy Tulimasealii (Offered)
Kamalei Correa (Offered)
Uaea Masina Committed
Masina was a huge get for the Utes, beating out BYU, Colorado, and San Diego State. He's a playmaker, who understands the game well and has great instincts. Perfect fit for the defense and someone that could play right away.
Filipo Mokofisi Committed
Filipo Mokofisi was the first commit of the 2013 class for the Utes. His commitment could help the Utes flip LB Sean Barton from Stanford, as the two are best friends. Mokofisi's father, also of the same name, was an all conference defender in the 80s for Utah.
Sean Barton (Offered) Committed to Stanford
Barton chose Stanford over Utah late in the summer, disappointing many who thought they'd land the self-proclaimed Ute fan. Utah is still in contact and Barton may take an official, but he's a longshot at this point.
Gabe Perez (Offered)
Perez has Utah high on his list and will visit officially. Boise State is the rumored leader at the moment, but the Utes are in the thick of it and in a good spot with Perez.
Tigi Hill JC (Offered)
The Utes were after hill back in the 2011 class, and have now jumped back in with the 2013 class. Hill could play linebacker or safety at the next level, but the thought is that he'll stay on the islands and play for Hawaii.
Others To Watch:
Keith Kelsey (Offered)
Koa Kaleopaa (Offered)
D.J. Dean Committed
Dean committed to Utah this summer, and could be the steal of the class. He plays QB in high school and is a dynamic athlete. Even if other teams come after him, he's solid to Utah.
Andrew Ballin Committed
Ballin could end up at running back, but is probably suited to be a corner at the college level. He's a real speedster and the type of athlete Utah loves.
Tyler Foreman (Offered)
Foreman has indicated that he has interest in the Utes and will take a visit. While not the favorites right now, they're not out of it and he'd be a huge get.
Money Hunter (Offered)
With his brother committing to Notre Dame, Money to Utah looks less likely. Whether or not Utah backs off will be interesting to see now that the most prized Hunter is off the board.
Priest Willis (Offered)
Willis has ties to the Utah staff, but at this point, the Utes are not in his top tier. If he ends up anywhere other than USC or UCLA, it will be a surprise.
Dashon Hunt (Offered)
Hunt is a former UCLA commit, that the new staff has passed on this point. Now another school is going to get a real football player that could make an immediate impact. Utah is trailing other schools at the moment though.
Patrick Enewally (Offered)
Enewally was ready to commit to Utah last month, but wants to make sure that he'll get a shot at cornerback as well as safety. He'll visit in late October, and a commitment after the visit was all but locked up. Now, what seemed like an inevitable commitment is less certain as Utah is losing some ground.
Marcellus Pippins (Offered)
Utah is doing very well with Pippins. If there is a cornerback on the board that I'm confident they'll get, it's Pippins. He'll visit officially next week for the USC game.
Walter Jones (Offered)
Jones visited Utah officially for the BYU game and has the Utes at the top of his board. He could end up on either side of the ball. Could be the fastest player Utah is going after right now. Utes are in a great place with Jones.
Rashard Fant (Offered)
Fant recently named a top five with Utah in it. He's from Georgia, an area that Utah historically doesn't recruit much at all, and would be quite the coup for the staff to get. Fant will almost certainly visit officially.
Thomas is an exceptional athlete that also plays quarterback. Utah is his leader and a pending official visit could very well result in a commitment immediately after.
