With Siale Fakailoatonga decommitting from Utah last month, and three senior tight ends graduating this year, the Utes need to fill the position. They did last week when Arizona Western JC's Gregory Reese pulled the trigger.
"The campus is nice and I love the coaching staff. I felt early on that Utah was the place for me so I committed. They're in the top 50 in the country in environmental biology, which is my major."
Reese has two years to play two and will be graduating in December so he can be at Utah in time for spring ball and have a chance to compete for playing time.
"It was very important to me to be able to be able to have the opportunity to play early, especially because I only have two years left."
Reese's visit took place during the USC game, and the newest Ute was impressed by the crowd and atmosphere.
"I was really surprised at how crazy the crowd was. They're so dedicated and the MUSS is crazy."
With a little over 2 months until JC signing day, Reese is working on making sure that he'll be able to get to Utah by January.
"I'm just focusing on my academics, while getting bigger and stronger."
