Utah - College of Idaho Post Game

Utah beats the College of Idaho Coyotes 72-38 in the final game before Pac-12 play begins.

Utah took on the College of Idaho Coyotes tonight for the final out-of-conference game of the regular season.

Overall this was a very efficient outing by the Utes. Utah played well on both ends of the court and even gave players that may not see the court the rest of the season some playing time. While the College of Idaho is not a good basketball team, this is a good confidence builder for the Utes as they head into Pac-12 play next week.

Jordan Loveridge had another good outing for the Utes picking up his third double-double of the season (15 points 10 rebounds. I have been very impressed with Loveridge's effort on the boards this season. J. Love is one of the leading rebounders in the Pac-12 this season and will be interesting if he can keep it up while versing the tougher competition the Utes will face in conference play.

One thing that stood out to me this game was the passing by Jarred DuBois. I really liked the way he was distributing the ball tonight and did a great job at finding the open man. Though DuBois didn't shoot the ball particularly well tonight, he did a great job with all other aspects of the game.

I really liked what Brandon Taylor brought to the team tonight. Taylor finished the game with 14 points (5-5 from the field and 4-4 from beyond the arch) and though only finishing with 1 assist, did a great job passing the ball.

Utah did come out a little slow tonight which has been a problem for this team in a number of games this season. While it may be hard to get hyped up to play teams like the College of Idaho, getting off to slow starts can become a habit real quick. Utah will not be able to afford these slow starts now that conference play tips off next week as the Utes travel to Arizona State.

It's kind of hard to take away very much from a game like this. College of Idaho is not a very good basketball team and the Utes could have very well won this game by 40+. While it was an impressive outing, I wouldn't take away too much from this game. Good win by the Utes, now onto Pac-12 play.
