Dickerson Picks Up an Offer From Utah

Northern California defensive lineman Matt Dickerson is picking up offers left and right

Spring has turned out to be a pretty good season for Northern California defensive lineman Matt Dickerson with offers coming in at a steady rate, giving the three star plenty of options as his recruitment takes off.

"It's going pretty well. Very humbling to have all of these schools offer me and think that I can play at their level."

Dickerson's offer list is expanding, with most of the Pac 12 jumping on board, including the University of Utah, who offered recently.

"I have 11 offers. Every single Pac 12 school except USC, Oregon State, Oregon, and Stanford has offered."

Dickerson isn't naming a favorite yet, but hope to pare things down over the next few months in order to find a standout.

"I'll probably develop a favorite as we get into the summer. Just want to take my visits and see what I like best. So far I visited to Washington, Colorado, San Jose State, and UCLA."

Utah's recent offer has given the 6-5, 275 pounder another option, and while he doesn't know much about the Utes, Dickerson has heard good things.

"Coach Hill offered me. He wants me as a defensive end or defensive tackle. I don't mind which one I play. I just love being on the D-line. They have really great coaches at Utah. Other people have told me that it's a great program."

Like many recruits, Dickerson has academics at the top of his list, but also wants to play for a team that has a strong family atmosphere.

"Number one is academics for me. I also want a school that has a great football program, a great team, and has a a group of players that really get along."

Utah will need to make an impression in Dickerson soon if they want to land his services, as will every other school, as the big man doesn't plan on waiting too much longer to decide.

"My plan is to get in as many visits as I can and make my decision before the season starts. I don't want it to interfere with my senior year."
