Earlier this week Utah picked up a commitment from a Houston area wide receiver in Raelon Singleton. They'd like to get another from another tall pass catcher in Ishmael Zamora who's recruitment has blown up with an impressive offer sheet.
"It's moving along nicely. Things are going better than I expected. I have offers from Houston, SMU, Coloroado State, Illinois, Baylor, Utah, Texas State, and Northern Colorado. I think Iowa State might offer soon. Maybe Oklahoma State, Colorado, and Duke."
While not narrowing down his list yet, Zamora does have a list of five schools that are standing out at the moment.
"My top five I would say is Baylor, SMU, Utah, Colorado State, and Illinois."
With the Utes making his top five, Zamora discusses what he likes about the program.
"They're a great team and great program with good academics. I've heard that the city is amazing. They said they'll take care of me and can do great things for me."
His relationship with Morgan Scalley has made a huge difference so far in his recruitment.
"We have a nice relationship and laugh a lot on the phone."
Not just a future division 1 football player, the 6-4, 200 pounder is also a track star, competing in multiple events.
"I run a lot of events: The 110 hurdles, 200 hurdles, 4X400, high jump, and long jump. At state I ran the 110 hurdles, 200 hurdles, and long jump (longest of 23')."
With summer approaching, Zamora plans on taking a few visits and then making a decision before his senior year starts.
"I'd probably like to decide over the summer or right before the season. I want to visit Colorado State, Utah, Houston, Baylor, and SMU before I do that, but we'll see if I can."
