Wade Does His Thing

Local point guard Jesse Wade talks recruiting and his performance at the Utah elite camp

The 2015 class in Utah is shaping up to be a pretty good one, and point guard Jesse Wade out of Davis High might be one of the best.

"I received an offer from Utah State on Monday. Other than that I'm just talking to a few others schools. I was very exicted about the USU offer. It would be great to play in the Spectrum."

Gonzaga, BYU, Utah, Vanderbilt, Harvard, Stanford, Northern Arizona, Southern Utah, and Weber State are also showing Wade some love and staying in contact, but he's not listing any favorites.

"I've also grown up cheering for the local teams. There's no leader or dream school for me."

Wade attended Utah's elite camp over the weekend and was happy with his performance.

"It went really well. The camp was ne of my favorite camps I've been to. The coaches and players were great and the facilities were very nice. I thought it was one of my better camps. I thought I ran the pick and roll very well and got a lot of coaching from the coaches. We joked around and a lot and had lunch together. I really liked working with Jared Dubois."

Wade didn't pick up an offer during the camp, but hopes to land one soon and is very high on the Utes.

"They haven't talked too much about an offer. I think it's a great program. I love the coaches. There are a lot of things I like about Utah."

Wade is looking a great mix of hoops and academics at the next level before making a decision.

"I want to go to a place where I can play at a high level of basketball and a place that has a great education. If my best situation is close to home or far away, it doesn't really matter to me. Just want a good mix of school and basketball."

The 6-1 guard averaged over 15 points a game last season and hopes to continue his upward trend before heading out on a mission after his senior year.

"I plan on taking a mission right out our high school."
