The Thunder Of Thor

Linebacker Thor Katoa is blowing up the camp scene and looking for a Utah offer

St. George (UT) Pine View linebacker Thor Katoa has one of the best names in the country for the 2014 class and it works perfectly for him as one of the hardest hitters in the west as well.

Katoa has taken his game to the camp circuit, participating in Utah's All Poly Camp, where he turned in an MVP performance at the linebacker spot.

"I recently received the MVP linebacker at the All Poly Camp last week, so with that I'm sure it will get me the exposure I need to get where I wanna be."

Katoa picked up his first offer this week from Benedict College in South Carolina, but is receiving interest from many schools out West.

"I've been getting interest from all over. Schools like Utah, BYU, Utah State, UCLA, Nebraska, and Boise State."

Katoa has been hearing from Utah a lot and things they could be on the verge of offering.

"I honestly think it's a close offer but it's on them, not me. All I'm doing is performing for them as good as I can. I'm just trying to get my schooling and education paid for. Times are hard and my family doesn't have the money for that without athletics, but once I start getting more and more offers, I'll take the time to look into the programs, but as of right now I'm just working as hard as I can to get more offers."

The 6'2, 230 pounder is LDS, but doesn't have mission plans at the moment.

"I have tons of faith in my church but it's not for everyone, so as of right now it's a no, but things could change in the future."
