Utah has their man...and this one will stick.
Louisiana quarterback Donovan Isom committed to Utah during an official visit, giving the Utes their quarterback for the 2014 class.
"I told Coach Whittingham that I wanted to commit and they were excited. I was excited. This is the perfect place for me with the football program and the academics."
The family atmosphere really stood out to Isom as he spent a lot of time with current Utes Troy McCormick and Micah Thomas.
"They really treated me like family. Once I told some of the players today that I had committed, they said 'Welcome to the family.'"
The overall scenery of the Salt Lake Valley and the Utah campus took Isom's breath away, as he'd never seen anything like it.
"This place is beautiful. It was unbelievable with the mountains and the city and the campus. I loved it."
While on his visit, the 6-4, 235 pounder was able to tour the new facilities and see what all the fuss was about.
"The new facility is really coming along. It looks great. I'm excited to be able to use it."
Now that he's made his verbal commitment, Isom is done with the recruiting process.
"I'm done with my recruitment. I'm shutting it down and I'm a man of my word. I'm a Ute."
