Utah's push into the state of Florida continues as they brought in another Sunshine State athlete with plenty of speed in safety prospect Andre Godfrey for an official visit over the weekend.
"The visit was great. They took us up to the mountains and I got to see snow for the first time. Being from the Tampa area, that was pretty cool."
Godfrey was hosted by another Florida native, and the two were able to spend some valuable time together.
"I was hosted by Gionni Paul. He's from Miami so we got along really well. We went out to the movies at an outdoor mall and ate a ton."
The 6-0, 180 pound prospect enjoyed watching the Utes take on Arizona State and thinks the program is very close to turning the corner.
"Watching Utah, I feel like they are a few good playmakers away from being an elite team. The coaches said that they have a senior graduating at safety and I could come in right away and compete for a starting spot."
Godfrey spent a lot of time at the new football facilities and was impressed with everything they had to offer.
"I love the new facilities. They had so much cool stuff, especially the locker rooms, the players room, and the barbershop."
Early playing time will be crucial in landing the three star's services, but two schools have started to emerge as leaders.
"I'm looking for a school that I can get early playing time at, makes me comfortable, and has coaches that are good people and will be around for awhile. I'm not counting anyone out right now. Utah and Wisconsin are neck and neck, but I also still have visits to Louisville and UCLA coming up."
