Utah Grabs Another From Florida

Sunshine State athlete Tavaris Williams will be heading West after committing to Utah

Utah picked up a Thanksgiving treat as Fort White (FL) athlete Tavaris Williams made his commitment to the Utes public.

"Coach Sitake offered me about a month and a half ago and I committed the next day. I really like the school and Coach Sitake was telling me how much they really needed me and my speed."

While the 5-11, 187 pounder has flown under the radar, more and more schools have started poking around, but he's remained solid to the Utes since making his commitment.

"Utah was my second offer. I also have offers from Duke, Idaho, Florida International, and a couple of other schools. Iowa State keeps trying to call and offer."

With Utah's need for speed on the edges, Williams could end up at one of multiple spots, and is willing to play wherever the coaches want him.

"I want to play running back, but will play wherever the coaches put me and wherever I can get on the field soonest."

Williams has a visit to Utah on tap in the coming days and is excited to be making his first trip out to the Beehive State.

"I'll be visiting Utah next week. I think I'll be coming out with my brother. I've never been to Utah. I don't have any reservations about coming across the country at all."
