2015 Position Analysis & Recruiting Needs: OL

We look at Utah's 2015 offensive line group and needs for the 2015 recruiting class

Offensive Line
Jeremiah Poutasi (Sr)
Siaosi Aiono (Sr)
Andrew Albers (Sr)
Kala Friel (Sr)
Derek Tuimauga (Sr)
Sam Tevi (Jr)
Hiva Lutui (Jr)
Nick Nowakowski (Jr)
Isaac Asiata (Jr)
J.J. Dielman (Jr)
Lo Falemaka (So)
Salesi Uhatafe (So)
Nua Poteki (R-Fr or So)
Khyiris Luavai (Fr)
Jackson Barton (R-Fr or So)

There's plenty of talent and depth on the offensive line with the 2015 team, and it looks to be Pac 12 quality. If Jeremiah Poutasi has a strong 2014 season, there's the possibility of him jumping early as he has all the physical tools to be an NFL guy, but with how he performed last year, it doesn't appear likely.

Aiono and Asiata should be locked in as starters. Where on the line they end up in anybody's guess, but they're pretty much set in stone. Add Poutasi and three spots look taken care of.

Nick Nowakowski and Hiva Lutui will battle for spots at both center and guard while JJ Dielman should be ready to make an impact and work his way into either starting spot or as one of the first off of the bench. Tuimauga and Friel are backup guys.

There's also a lot of young talent with guys like Falemaka, Uhatafe, and Barton, all of whom have high ceilings. If Utah can get one of those guys to anchor a tackle spot by 2015, it will set them up well that year and going forward.

The 2015 recruiting class out west is about average, but there are a few high end local kids that Utah will have a chance with in Andre James and James Empey. Utah will probably need to slip into Arizona and Texas to land at least one of their commits.

Utah Should Take: 3
Utah Will Take: 2 to 3
