Trinity High School in Euless, Texas has been seen by many as a feeder school for Utah. They've landed multiple players over the years from Trojans' roster, but failed to do so in the 2014 class. That could change in 2015 with defensive end prospect Tipa Galea'i.
"My recruitment is going pretty well. I have offers from Utah, Utah State, and North Texas right now. I'm also hearing a lot from Tulsa, Oklahoma State, and Vanderbilt."
That list doesn't include three Pac 12 schools that Galea'i currently has standing out despite not receiving much interest from them.
"My favorites right now are actually UCLA, USC, and Stanford. Those are the three schools that I'm really looking at most. I haven't been in contact with them much. I do talk to UCLA on Facebook sometimes."
The 3 star defensive end visited Utah recently and has made many trips out to the Beehive State.
"I came out and visited Utah in the spring and it was pretty cool. I have a lot of family that lives in Utah so I go out there a lot. It's a good program. The thing that stood out to me most is the work ethic the players have and hard how they're going at it."
Galea'i has developed a good relationship with one of Utah's coaches that has had a lot of success recruiting in Texas.
"Coach Salley is a cool guy and is really easy to talk to. He came by out school on Tuesday and I got to see him. I also talk to Coach Tuiaki and Coach Kalani (Sitake)."
The 6-6, 215 pounder isn't in a rush to make a decision of any kind and will wait until the winter to do so.
"I'm probably not going to decide until closer to signing day. I want to be able to take some visits first. Vandy, Utah, and Utah State have all talked to me about visiting."
A good fit and two specific majors will be important for a school in landing Galea'i's services.
"I'm looking for a school with good players that help me fit in. They also have to have my major. I either want to study to be a orthodontist or an aircraft engineer like my dad."
