UPDATE: 7:22 P.M.

--We're hearing that, while UCLA granted Kylie Fitts his release to transfer, the UCLA coaches are still trying to convince him to stay.

It's uncertain if it will have an impact on Fitts, but a source said that Fitts was listening.

Kylie Fitts, the sophomore defensive end, has gotten his release from the program with the intent to transfer, according to sources.

Fitts later said on Twitter that the reason for the transfer was "personal" and had "nothing to do with depth or playing time issues."

Fitts played sparingly last season as a true freshman, and then sat for a number of games after undergoing surgery on his wrist.

Fitts was definitely expected to be in the defensive line rotation this fall after having a promising performance in spring practice.

A four-star U.S. Army All-American out of Redlands (Calif.) East Valley, Fitts was initially a commit to USC before signing with UCLA.
