Milton Only Wants Utah

Kilgore Community College DB Anthony Milton has his eyes set on the Utes

It's been a wild and whacky road for Anthony Milton as he was unable to find a landing spot in the 2014 class and is now at Kilgore Community College in Texas trying to find his way on to an FBS roster.

"I was supposed to go to Utah last year, but it didn't work out. Now, I only want to go to Utah. That's the only place I'm looking at and the only school I want to be at."

Utah's cornerbacks coach has had a big influence on Milton and he's excited at the prospect of playing on his defense.

"I talk to Coach Shah 2 to 3 times a week. He's a really cool guy and I like him a lot."

The Utes are recruiting Milton at a spot that needs a lot more depth than they currently have.

"Utah wants me to come in as a free safety and a kick returner. I'm trying to get out there this spring if I can get my academics taken care of."

So what is it about the Utah program that has the Louisiana native so dead-set on coming this way? A former teammate on the roster is very influential.

"Utah has a great program. Their facilities are awesome. Boobie Hobbs is always talking to me about Utah. We talk quite a bit and want to be able to play together again."

Milton hasn't visited Utah yet, but is looking to take an official visit, something he plans on setting up very soon.

"I'm supposed to talk to Coach Shah this week and setup an official visit. I can't wait to come out there and see everything."

Milton was able to catch Utah's win over Michigan on Saturday and was happy for the team and liked what he saw.

"It was a big win for the team. They played really well and it was good to see them beat a school like Michigan."
