Game Matchups and Preview: Utah at Wazzu

The Utes hit the road to close out the regular season

Guards
Utah's guards have been their rock all season long with Wright the logical pick for conference player of the year and Taylor making a strong push for all conference. They've been tremendous on both ends of the court.

DaVonte Lacy is one of the top pure scorers in the Pac 12 at 17.3 points per game. He broke Klay Thompson's school record for made 3s his last time out. Very dangerous. Sophomore Ike Iroegbu scores 8.4 a game while dishing out 3.1 assists.
Advantage: Utah

Forwards
Loveridge has looked more comfortable the last few games and is ready for a breakout performance soon. Reyes was couldn't keep it going after his 9 points game against ASU, posting just a single point against Arizona. Still up and down, but mostly down.

Dexter Kernich-Drew is Wazzu's sharpshooter. He doesn't play a ton of minutes, but does shoot over 43% from deep. Sophomore Jasoh Hawkinson has been arguably the biggest surprise in the Pac 12 this season going from 6 minutes per game last year to 14.6 points and 10.2 rebounds per contest this year. He'll test Utah inside.
Advantage: Washington State

Center
It was clear watching Poeltl against Arizona that he needs another year, maybe in another conference away from these officials. He's still 8.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks.

Senior Jordan Railey only plays 15 minutes per game averaging 6.3 points and 3.3 rebounds.
Advantage: Utah

Bench
Predicting how Utah is going to use their bench is futile. Larry has so many options and try to create different matchups that you never know if he'll go 9 deep or 12 deep on any given night. Either way, they've got talent and lots of bodies.

The Cougars get contributions off of the bench from three players in Ny Redding, Brett Boese, and Que Johnson, each of whom average over 4.5 per contest.
Advantage: Utah

The Breakdown
The Utes will suffer a bit of an early letdown, then put it all together in the second half for a comfortable 10 point win with Delon Wright again leading the way.

The Pick
Utah 70 Wazzu 60
